Web + Wins #7: Favicons & AI Agents

This Week's Update

These last few weeks of wrapping up my role at the Boyd Innovation Center while ramping up Snaply Sites full time have been a lot – and doing my own offboarding has been equal parts humbling and validating. I've found gaps I wish I'd documented better (* shakes head *), and processes where past-me actually had it together (* pats back *). Both are good reminders of why staying organized matters as you grow.

Next week's newsletter will be coming to you from a full-time business owner. I've technically been all-in on Snaply Sites for a while now — just while also working another full-time job. Next week, Snaply finally gets me all to itself. I’m nervous, excited, all of the things. Can't wait. 🎉

Get a Web Win: Check Your Favicon

What's showing up in the browser tab when someone visits your website?

If you've never thought about it, it's probably a generic icon from your website platform. That tiny little image is called a favicon, and it's one of those small details that quietly shapes how professional your site feels.

The vast majority of people won’t look at a website and think "that favicon is off." But they do pick up on the overall impression. A branded favicon is one of a dozen small signals that add up to either "this business has it together" or "this feels a little DIY."

Here's what to do:

  • Create a simple version of your logo that works at small sizes — usually just an icon or initial, not your full logo

  • Keep it clean and high contrast so it's readable when tiny

  • Upload it in your website platform's settings (in Squarespace: Design → Browser Icon)

It takes about five minutes and it's one of those details that helps your business show up more professionally online. Check yours out now and see if it’s good to go!

Coffee Convos Lucie DeCristofaro & Alicia James

Two conversations this week had me thinking about the same thing from different angles: AI agents.

My friend Lucie, who has a background in product management and has cofounded two startups, has been experimenting with Claude Code for the last few months. She showed me how she uses it to automatically organize and file her meeting transcripts and notes. No manual sorting, no lost follow-ups, it just gets handled.

Then I connected with Alicia James of Flamingo Consulting. She built an AI agent named Andie (yes, inspired by The Devil Wears Prada, full aesthetic and everything 😄) who acts as her personal assistant. Andie pulls from her calendar and to-do list and helps Alicia prioritize what's next.

I use AI every single day, but chatting with Claude and ChatGPT and running an agent are not the same thing. Chats handle the creative and strategic, agents handle the repetitive and scheduled. Questions, ideas, writing, design tweaks, those go to Claude (my personal favorite). Recurring processes, filing, reminders, that's where I can start to use agents.

As a solopreneur trying to do everything at once, I'm very ready to start setting some of these up. Stay tuned.

Connect with Alicia here – she's happy to talk through her setup. And if you've already got an agent or agents running, I'd love to hear about it. Hit reply and tell me what you're using.

Let's Talk

Remember that ambitious goal of 30 coffee chats I set for May? I just did a quick calendar audit, and I'm sitting at about 15, which honestly isn't bad considering the season I've been in. A few speed networking events helped pad the count in a fun way. (Yes, I’ll count those two minute virtual intros).

For June, I think I’ll stick with the bigger goal and keep 30. Plus, with full-time availability, I can make it happen.

If you want one of those chats, book it here. Or if you know someone I need to connect with, please let me know! I’m always looking to connect with owner operators, especially the ones who are looking for someone to take website design and management off their plate.
