Web + Wins #5: I'm Going All In!!!

This Week's Update

Big personal news this week. Starting June 1st, I'm going all in on Snaply Sites. πŸŽ‰β€‹For the past two years I've been running the business in full grind mode – early mornings, weekends, squeezing every hour I could find while working another full-time job. It's been a lot, and I'm proud of what we've built in that season. But I'm ready for what's next.I'm equal parts anxious and excited BUT I’m making myself lean hard into the excitement. More time for clients, more time to grow, more time to get out and meet people and go deeper in this business. For those of you who've already made the leap from a W2 to running your own thing, I'd love to hear how that transition felt for you. Drop me a reply. I'm all ears.

Get a Web Win: Start Collecting Reviews (the Easy Way)

If you're not actively collecting Google reviews, this is your sign to start. It's one of the easiest ways to build trust and get found online – and it's completely free.

Your Google Business Profile is doing quiet work for you every day:

  • It helps you show up in local search results

  • It builds instant credibility with people who don't know you yet

  • It gives potential clients the social proof they need to reach out

And those reviews don't just live on Google – pull them onto your website, share them on social, use them in your marketing. One good review works hard in a lot of places.

Here's how to grab your review link right now:

  1. Log into your Google Business Profile

  2. Click "Ask for reviews"

  3. Copy your custom link

  4. Save it somewhere you'll actually use it

That's it. Now put it to work:

  • Send it when a project wraps up (perfect place to set up an automated task, so you don’t have to remember every time!)

  • Drop it in your email signature

  • Text it to a happy client

  • Add it to your website

And if you've been putting off asking – don't. If you're proud of your work and you stand behind it, asking for a review isn't awkward. You're just making it easy for someone to share a good experience. Those reviews help the right people find you.

Bonus: Ask for the Facebook review too – they can copy and paste the exact same review.

Shameless plug: if we've worked together and you had a great experience, I'd be so grateful for a review on Google or Facebook. 😊

Coffee Convos: The Power of Local Partnerships

A few weeks ago, I attended an event hosted by Columbia's Small Business Development Center that brought together skilled trade business owners to network and share what they're working through. I didn't go to pitch, I went to listen and learn about the real problems they were facing. Workforce gaps, scaling challenges, operations bottlenecks.

I walked away with something I didn't expect: a new partnership with two incredible women (follow Robyn Maryn and Sarah DePeri) who support entrepreneurs and small businesses here in Columbia.

What came out of that connection is something I'm genuinely excited about. Together with the SBDC and the SC APEX Accelerator, we're hosting a free hands-on website workshop for business owners next month. Attendees will walk away with a live landing page, foundational SEO set up, and a clear roadmap for what's next. I'm putting my teacher hat back on, and I can't wait. 🍎

If you're in Columbia and want a seat, grab one here.

Let's Talk

I'm winding down my W2 and ramping up Snaply – which means my calendar is opening up in the best way. If you've been thinking about your website or just want to catch up, let's grab a virtual coffee. I'd love to connect. Book a chat with me here.
